Heavy-Duty Rear Shock Upgrade – KONI FSD for Beaver Coach Magnum Chassis
Upgrade the rear suspension performance of your motorhome with the KONI 8805-1005SP1 Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) Rear Shock, designed for Beaver Coach Magnum chassis Class A motorhomes. These premium KONI FSD shocks are engineered to improve ride comfort, stability, and suspension control—especially important for diesel pusher motorhomes equipped with Beaver Magnum 4, 8, or 10 air bag suspension systems.
KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology automatically adapts to changing road conditions. The shock remains firm when greater control is needed—such as during cornering, lane changes, and heavy suspension movement—but softens over expansion joints and rough pavement to deliver a smoother ride.
A specialized internal valve system helps filter harsh road vibrations before they reach the chassis, reducing driver fatigue while maintaining excellent suspension stability. The result is improved ride comfort, reduced rear suspension bounce, and better highway control for your motorhome.
If your coach experiences harsh ride quality, rear-end bounce, or unstable highway handling, upgrading to KONI FSD shocks is one of the most effective ways to improve ride comfort, suspension performance, and driver confidence.

The KONI 8805-1005SP1 FSD rear shock is designed for Beaver Coach motorhomes built on the Magnum air ride chassis. These chassis are widely used in diesel pusher motorhomes where improved rear suspension control, ride comfort, and highway stability are essential. This shock helps reduce rear suspension bounce, improve chassis control, and deliver a smoother ride compared to factory shock absorbers.
Specifications:
| Collapsed Length | Extended Length | Upper Mount | Lower Mount |
| 15.12" | 24.09" | Eye 3/4" | Eye 3/4" |
Special Notes:
- Sold individually.
- Many Magnum air bag chassis use one shock per air bag, so you may need four or six shocks to complete the rear suspension.
- Some Beaver coaches use the non-SP1 version (KONI 8805-1005). Verify mounting hardware before ordering.
- If the bottom bolt head is 1-1/8", this SP1 version is correct.
- If the bottom bolt head is 3/4", you need KONI 8805-1005.
- Bilstein cross reference numbers: B46-2093-M1 and AK1275.
- These shocks use a 3/4" eye top and bottom mount.
Other Information:
Q: What is KONI Frequency Selective Damping (FSD)?
A: FSD technology automatically adjusts damping based on road frequency, providing firm control during large suspension inputs while softening over rough pavement and expansion joints.
Q: Why do some Beaver Magnum chassis require four or six rear shocks?
A: Many Magnum air ride suspension systems use one shock absorber per air bag, which can require multiple shocks on the rear suspension depending on chassis configuration.
