The J72 Auto Apply Park Brake, found on various Workhorse and Freightliner chassis, relies on a factory-installed park brake controller that is known to be unreliable. In some cases, it can engage the park brake unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion, without any warning.
The UltraStop Park Brake Module Replacement with UltraSave Kit addresses this issue by replacing the faulty controller using factory connectors for a seamless installation. In addition, it incorporates a hydraulic line lock system designed to prevent unintended brake application in the event of a pressure loss.
We refer to this solution as the “J72 Disaster Prevention Kit” and strongly advise against replacing the transmission brake unit without also installing this system, as it helps safeguard your investment.
